Maker of Comfy Crawlers™ to Donate a Portion of Sales to Florida Hemophilia Foundation

FT. LAUDERDALE/MIAMI, FL – For the months of September and October, Gissy Bella LLC, maker of Comfy Crawlers™ padded crawling pants for babies, will donate 5% of total sales to the Hemophilia Foundation of Greater Florida. Gissy Bella will also offer a 25% discount to the foundation’s members on any Comfy Crawlers purchases through the end of the year.

Comfy Crawlers, pants that feature cushy knee, shin and rear pocket foam pads, were created by Marina Westerdahl, a former environmental scientist turned stay-at-home mom and entrepreneur. Westerdahl came up with the idea of the padded pants after her son Ethan was born.

“When my son Ethan was learning to crawl, I was worried that the tile floors in our home would be too rough on his knees,” said Marina Westerdahl, creator of Comfy Crawlers and founder of Gissy Bella LLC. “I couldn’t find any pants that provided cushion on the knees so I decided to sew him a pair myself.”

It wasn’t long before other moms in the neighborhood took notice of the stylish pants and started putting in orders for themselves. Westerdahl also heard from moms whose children suffered from hemophilia and wished they had known about the padded pants to prevent severe bruising when their children were learning to crawl.

“My doctor recommended using thick socks and pulling them up over my son’s knees to cushion them and prevent severe bruising…I wish I had known about Comfy Crawlers when my son was learning to crawl,” said Patricia Stone, a mom whose son suffers from hemophilia.

When Marina heard about the practical use of her Comfy Crawlers for hemophiliac toddlers, Marina decided she wanted to give back to the community and thought what better way than to donate to the Hemophilia Foundation of Greater Florida.

“While my own children don’t suffer from hemophilia, as a mom I can understand the need to want to protect a child’s delicate skin from unnecessary bruising or bleeding. It made me feel even more proud of my product to know that other parents are finding them useful for this need,” said Westerdahl.
