High Holidays at Congregation Shirat Shalom in Elgin IL


(PRLEAP.COM) Celebrate the Joys of Conservative Judaism at Congregation Shirat Shalom in Elgin. Friendly, participatory Shabbat services are led by Cantor Sarah Alexander every Saturday at 9:45am, and are followed by a community kiddush luncheon. Services include a spirited Torah discussion, focusing on the “parsha of the week”. Tot Shabbat services, perfect for children of all ages, are on the third Friday of the month.

Egalitarian High Holiday services will begin with Erev Rosh Hashanah services, 7:30pm on September 12th; tickets are available now. Yom Kippur services will begin on Friday night, September 21st, at 6:30pm, and conclude with a Communal Break-Fast meal on Saturday, September 22nd.

Following the High Holidays, we will celebrate the Festival of Booths, the holiday of Sukkot. Join us for our Family Shabbat Service and "Pizza in the Hut" on Friday, September 28th. Dinner is only $5/person; please RSVP by 9/23.

Hebrew school registration is now open for the fall; call and hear about our individualized program. Adult Education classes are held on Tuesdays and Saturdays. A four-week class on Hebrew comprehension will begin on Tuesday, October 9th.
