June 16, 2005 (PRLEAP.COM) Business News
Alan Samuel has been appointed as the UK head of operations at Tata Interactive Systems (TIS), the global e-learning pioneer.

He has been heading up TIS’s activities within the publishing and education sector of the UK market, as well as looking after the requirements of TIS customers British Airways and the Royal Mail for the last four years or so. Before joining TIS Alan Samuel spent a number of years working within the Tata Group of Companies, which generates revenues of some £7bn per year or 2.6 per cent of India’s total gross domestic product (GDP).

TIS, which provides custom-built e-learning materials and related consultancy services across all sectors of the UK economy, including the education and public sectors, is continuing to further develop its UK-based instructional design, project management and technical consultancy activities. It now employs some 20 people in the UK, which places TIS among the largest developers of e-learning in the UK – not only in terms of turnover but also in terms of headcount.

“This developing capacity and capability within the UK to increasingly support our growing client base here is set to be enhanced by further enlargement of our UK team,” commented Alan Samuel.

“Having grown rapidly – by over 45 per cent CAGR – in the last decade, TIS is poised for further expansion and utilisation of market opportunities,” commented TIS’s CEO, Sanjaya Sharma. “Alan Samuel and his growing team in the UK will help TIS to further cement its position as one of the UK’s leading e-learning developers.”
