LA Fitness Under Construction at Transcan Development’s Canyon Crossings in Riverside, CA - LA Fitness Expects to Open in First Quarter, 2006

ALAMO, CA – Transcan Development LLC of Alamo, the developers of Canyon Crossings, a $42 million, 90-acre mixed-use, freeway-oriented project, announced today that LA Fitness is under construction and is expected to be open for business in the first quarter of 2006.

According to Bill Horner, Senior Vice President of Real Estate for Irvine, Calif. based LA Fitness, the new 45,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art fitness center will offer a 25-yard lap pool, heated spa, sauna, aerobics room, full circuit training, free weights, over 60 pieces of cardio equipment, a kid’s club and juice bar. LA Fitness will also offer more than 45 to 50 exciting group fitness programs, including indoor cycling, kick box cardio, aqua aerobics, yoga and mat Pilates, as well as basketball and racquetball leagues and tournaments.

“We are very excited about our new location at Canyon Crossings. LA Fitness is a convenience business and we want to be located along people’s normal, every day driving patterns. It is our goal to make it as easy as possible for people to get to their club and then feel comfortable once they get there,” says Horner. LA Fitness will be open from 5:00 am until 11:00 pm on the weekdays and from 7:00 am to 8:00 pm on the weekends.

This will be LA Fitness' second location in Riverside. Last year the company opened a fitness center at 19531 Mission Village Drive, near Alessandro Boulevard and Mission Grove Parkway.

Founded in 1984, LA Fitness owns and operates Sports Clubs in California, Arizona, Oregon, Washington, Florida, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Connecticut and Georgia. By the end of year 2005, the Company expects to have over 140 clubs in operation with planned expansion into new and existing markets.

Canyon Crossings is located in the heart of Canyon Springs, a 180-acre master-planned commercial hub and is the only retail project fronting both Interstate 215 and State Highway 60. Upon completion, the project will encompass more than 740,000 square feet of retail, including a 230,000-square-foot Wal-Mart Supercenter plus a mixture of other major retailers, specialty shops, restaurants and lifestyle venues including John's Incredible Pizza, Wickes Furniture and Home Gallery Furniture Superstore. The project will also include 144,000 square feet of Class “A” office space and will include Chapman University.

CB Richard Ellis in Ontario is handling the leasing and marketing for the retail and office components. Tom Swieca and Tony Archer at CB Richard Ellis are leasing the retail component, and John Oien and Natalie Bazarevitsch are leasing the office component. Construction completion of phase one is scheduled for first quarter of 2006. Summit Builders of Newport Beach is the general contractor. MCG Architects of Pasadena and Designers Collective of Lafayette, California serve as project architects.
