Sports shelter will make sure fans are home and dry

Kelsey Galliah is looking forward to dry and happy supporters when he plays for local Sunday League team Red Cap FC after setting the ball rolling on the idea of an inflatable sports shelter.

Kelsey heard complaints from supporters about getting wet on rainy match days.

“That’s when I thought of the shelter”, he said, “and I thought there might be something in it, so I got on to the patent experts.”

The shelter is 15 feet wide, 7 feet high and 8 feet deep, and is currently at prototype stage. Kelsey is waiting for patent confirmation in the UK, and hopes to have secured a patent across Europe by the end of the year. Complete with transparent sides, ventilation and space for seating, the shelter can be inflated and then left until it needs to be packed away. It even has velcro strips ready for attaching advertisements.

Kelsey hopes to improve the design further by attaching a rechargeable power pack for inflation and deflation of the shelter. He said “The whole idea is that the shelter is portable and easy to use. It’s a basic and simple idea, but I think it will be effective.”
