New York, NY [September 13, 2007] — The New York International Independent Film and Video Festival (NYIIFVF) today announced that they have added MOLI.com as a sponsor for their upcoming film event in LA, taking place September 27 - October 4, 2007. NYIIFVF known as the voice of indie film will team up with MOLI.com, an enterprising new networking site targeting creative entrepreneurs, to host an online film competition, giving filmmakers a chance to win a prize of $1,000 and The MOLI award for The Best Online Short Film of the festival.

The contest, which will be held at www.moli.com/nyiifvf, invites all independent filmmakers to upload their best short films, where MOLI members will vote for their favorites. The film must be 10 minutes or less, and the criteria for judging the winners will be based on a combination of comments from MOLI members and others visiting the site, as well as MOLI’s evaluation of the film based on the usual merits of concept: production value, acting, directing and script. Entry is free to all filmmakers, who also get an opportunity to create a profile about themselves, their production companies and their work.

NYIIFVF Founder/Executive Producer Stuart Alson commented, I am excited that MOLI is a sponsor for our LA event. MOLI.com is an innovative website for new media and their internet savvy team have designed a wonderful platform for our independent filmmakers to promote their work, win a great prize and get valuable feedback about their film from viewers and MOLI members. We welcome the generous prize money and appreciate their support for the independent film community. I look forward to developing this creative collaboration.

Judy Balint, MOLI President and COO commented on the unique partnership: MOLI provides artists and creative entrepreneurs with a incredible platform to showcase their work and exchange ideas, so we are thrilled to partner with the NYIIFVF. We look forward to creating a home for emerging filmmakers and their fans, as well as connecting artists with a global audience of potential supporters.

During its fall run, NYIIFVF will screen a broad and brave array of over 150 features, shorts and animations from more than 25 countries as well as after parties and insightful film panels. All genres are covered including world cinema, comedy, children's films, romance, drama, thriller, horror, action, Bollywood, experimental, animation as well as a compelling slate of high-quality documentaries.
