K&S ASSOCIATES OF ST. LOUIS AWARDED $21.1 MILLION CONTRACT TO BUILD TWO SCHOOLS IN ILLINOIS

(PRLEAP.COM) St. Louis, Missouri … The Edwardsville Community Unit School District #7 in Edwardsville, Illinois, has awarded a $21.1 million contract to K&S Associates, Inc. of St. Louis to construct two, new 85,000-square-foot elementary schools. Liberty Elementary School will be built in Edwardsville for K - 2nd grades and Glenn Crossing School will be built in nearby Glen Carbon for 3rd - 5th grades. The District is located about 27 miles northeast of St. Louis.

Identical in their design and construction components, each new school will feature a state-of-the-art gymnasium, classrooms, kitchen and cafeteria, multi-media area, administrative and office space, as well as playgrounds. Project completion for both schools is scheduled for summer 2008.

Thomas J. Kraska, President of K&S Associates, said, “We are very pleased to work with Superintendent Dr. Ed Hightower and the entire Edwardsville team to build these two new elementary schools, which will offer first-class facilities for young students in the Edwardsville school district.”

Woolpert, Inc. of Fairview Heights, Illinois, is the project architect and engineer.
