Customers Respond with CJD Aware! Mug Ideas
(
PRLEAP.COM) CJD Aware! celebrated their five-year anniversary in May with their ‘Support Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease (CJD) Research Mug’. As public awareness about CJD increases nationwide, the ‘Research Mug’ sales continue to increase. And with the increased sales, comes feedback from the customers.
"Thanks to the creativity of many of our clients, we’re pleased to discover new uses for our mugs." said Lori Brom, Volunteer Coordinator. "We think these examples are wonderful and may give other customers ideas for the upcoming holiday season". CJD Aware! is a non-profit, information organization based in New Orleans, Louisiana. It was founded by family members who lost a loved-one to the sporadic form of Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (CJD), a rare, and fatal neurological disorder. One of CJD Aware’s! goals is to raise much-needed funds to assist doctors and researchers in their continuing efforts to develop an early diagnostic test, treatment and cure for this ‘silent killer’. This past spring, CJD Aware! introduced their ‘Support CJD Research Mug’ on their website (
www.cjdware.com) with a portion of the proceeds of each mug going to The National Prion Disease Pathology Surveillance Center in Cleveland, Ohio. "Some of our clients sent us emails and photo attachments of how they used the Research Mugs," replied Sandy Rouse, a CJD Aware! volunteer. Libba of South Carolina wrote to us, "We’ve started using your mugs for gifts in our office and they are very popular with the staff. I’ve sent 2 examples - an Office Supplies mug and a Pet mug. We’re placing another order and thank you for spreading the word on CJD." From Faye in Indiana, "Your mugs are not just for coffee! We have been giving them to staff and patients, and can’t keep up with the demand! Here are two of our favorites, a Troll/Note card mug and a Halloween mug (the candy is in the bottom). Please keep up the good work you’re doing and we’ll keep getting your mugs." "One of our clients in Maryland wrote that she has the Research Mug on her desk, and that it has already garnered questions like, ‘What is CJD?’ and ‘Is it curable’?," added Ms. Rouse. CJD Aware! is currently involved in several other projects, one of which is the annual work for National CJD Awarenees Week which falls this year on November 11-17th. We’re also still taking names for our Remembrance Page, which will be posted on our website on November 12th, International CJD Awareness Day. Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (CJD) affects the populace worldwide, join CJD Aware! as we strive to help researchers learn more about the disease so that effective treatments can be developed.
