Epiphany Cellars Introduces Purité: Clean, Unoaked and Exceptionally Food Friendly Wines

SAN FRANCISCO, CA —September, 2007— Always seeking to innovate and refine its wine offerings, Epiphany Cellars of Los Olivos, CA is pleased to launch its latest line of wines called Purité. Inspired by the timeless style of many world class wines that have little or no oak influence, the aptly named “Purité” releases (currently a 2006 Viognier and a 2006 Chardonnay) are “naked” – in other words, no oak fermentation or aging. Many of Epiphany’s top restaurateurs and sommelier clients have asked the winery to consider fashioning a line of wines with even more balance and acidity, and thus Purité was conceived. The Chardonnay is from Santa Rita Hills AVA and the Viognier has a Santa Barbara County AVA.

Completely unoaked, and entirely stainless steel fermented with absolutely no malolactic fermentation, these wines are crisp, clean, fruit driven and exceptionally food friendly. Wine savvy consumers and foodies are asking for wines that truly compliment diverse cuisine offerings, and this profile of wine is perfect for both the aperitif and pairing roles.

In addition to the immediate release of the 2006 Chardonnay and Viognier, Epiphany Cellars expects a 2007 Dry Riesling to join the Purité line next spring. Finished with a screwcap and retailing for $22, Purité wines are aptly suited for both restaurant and at-home dining. About Epiphany Cellars

After years of enology and viticulture classes as well as apprenticeships, Eli Parker took his fascination with winemaking outside the Fess Parker Winery and Vineyard and created Epiphany Cellars. Eli crafts his wine from the phenomenal grapes harvested throughout Santa Barbara County. Most Epiphany wines are created from a single vineyard, while other wines such as the 2004 Revelation (San Francisco International Wine Competition Double Gold winner), are blends from three different vineyards in the Santa Ynez Valley. Epiphany’s portfolio features an array of Rhone-inspired wines including Grenache Blanc, Grenache Rose, Roussane, Pinot Gris Petite Sirah, and Grenache and Syrah Blends. www.epiphanycellars.com
