Corporate University Xchange Announces a Leadership Development Webinar Led by Staples University

Staples University representatives Nancy Persson and Willia Cooper presented their award-winning leadership program at Training 2007, hosted in Orlando, FL in February 2007. Nancy Persson is the Vice President of Organization Development (OD), Training and Internal Communications at Staples. She is an expert facilitator, communicator, and an accomplished internal consultant. Nancy joined Staples in 1992 and during her tenure, she has built and still leads world-class training, OD and communications teams that provide innovative strategies and solutions for over 70,000 associates.

Willia Cooper is the Senior Training Specialist and has been involved in training, development, organizational development, and total quality for more than 25 years in various industries. She is currently designing a Virtual Management Certificate Program for customer service managers at Staples. This program will include 5 workshops and 5 senior leader-led forums and will span an eight-month period.

Persson and Cooper will team up to present the organization of the leadership development activity, along with the workshops, tools and services that Staples University uses to develop managers, directors and executives. The presentation will include specific examples of the programs that helped Staples University win the CorpU Excellence Award for Leadership.

Leadership Development for the Times is scheduled for Wednesday, October 17, 2007 at 10:30 AM Eastern Time. All Learning and Development (L&D) professionals who want to learn how to structure strategic leadership and executive development programs are encouraged to attend the webinar. This event is open to all attendees.

In 2007 at the CorpU 8th Annual Awards Gala, Staples received the CorpU Excellence Award for Leadership. The category highlights organizations that implement high-impact programs targeted to managers, high potentials, and senior executive leadership. Runners-up included Coles Group Limited for Best Practice; Convergys for Best Practice; Trinity Health for Best Practice; Central Bank of Malaysia for Exemplary Practice; and UBS for Exemplary Practice.
