Atlanta, Georgia – CGI Group Inc. (TSX: GIB.A; NYSE: GIB) together with the Telecommunications Risk Management Association (TRMA), announces the TRMA 10-Year Reunion Celebration and Fall Conference, to be held September 25 - 27 in Atlanta, Georgia.

CGI, a leader in information technology (IT) and business process services, played an integral part in founding TRMA. In 1993, in response to rising bad debt and fraud activity in the telecommunications industry, CGI formed the Telecommunications Risk Management Forum to introduce telecommunications professionals to innovative credit management techniques and technology solutions used in banking and other industries.

In September of 1997, the Telecommunications Risk Management Association was formed. Drawing its membership from the community of professionals that attended the CGI Forum, the Association enables year round knowledge sharing and networking as members review risk management trends and explore cooperative efforts to reduce consumer and small business uncollectible debt.

“This is a turning point in TRMA’s history as we celebrate our 10th anniversary, and we think it’s a good time to reflect on our history, of which CGI played an integral part when TRMA was founded,” said Sandra Casstillo-Jackson, Director, Payment Operations, Sprint Nextel Corporation, and former TRMA President. “By creating an opportunity to share risk management best practices, we enable our member organizations to reduce fraud and optimize risk for the benefit of the industry, individual members and paying customers.”

“Risk management continues to be a critical focus point for the telecommunications industry, and changing technology and customer expectations will require that those strategies continue to evolve. CGI’s Telco Risk Management Forum was established to bring together the industry leaders to address these issues and to foster interaction,” said Ray Harris, Vice President, CGI. “The TRMA embraced the original intent and greatly expanded the membership and influence of risk management in telecommunications. CGI is proud to be one of the association’s founders.”
