(
PRLEAP.COM) Sherman Oaks, CA October 2, 2007 The title of the book may be alarming, but it does have a happy ending. This is a children’s book suitable for ages 10-15. It is a fairy tale placed in present day times to make it easier for children to relate to, while improving their vocabulary, teaching them life lessons, and entertaining them all at the same time. It also teaches them about magic and how to protect themselves from black magic if necessary.
The End Of The World As We Know It was written by Berni Seever who is an aspiring singer/songwriter. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Media Studies from UNC-Greensboro. She worked in radio for a few years both on and off air. She also worked for a few 900 psychic lines as a tarot reader and astrologer. She acted a lot as a child and wrote her first play at 12 which was about the effects of air pollution She was a player in Hamlet in Chicago with The Young Shakespearians which aired on public television when she was in the sixth grade.
Placed in modern times, the main characters are driving cars, using the internet, playing in bands and everything today’s children are used to seeing in their everyday lives which makes it easier for them to relate to it.
The book is based on a true story and the clues to the identities of the two main characters are hidden somewhere in the text. There may be a future contest for the person who can identify the real identities of the two main characters. It deals with a princess who falls in love with a prince from another place. The princess doesn’t know that a black witch is interested in the prince and plans to force him to marry her. The princess has to learn about black magic to stop the black witch from stealing her prince and her destiny.
It speaks about the end of Satan’s reign in the world and the fight that is going on between good and evil with good overcoming evil in the end. There’s a lot going on in the book with three main characters and two other characters all lending something interesting to the spiritual lesson at hand.
People of all ages and genders have read it; even people who say they don’t like to read , have read it through its entirety and enjoyed every minute of it. The story pulls you in from beginning to end as it flows well and is a fun read It was meant for a younger audience, but all the adults love it as well, which is a good sign.
