HOLLYWOOD ACTORS SAY PHILADELPHIA IS “EX$PENDABLE….”

PRLEAP.COM) New York, NY, 10/3/2007– Tough Struggle Entertainment (TSE) and Colossal Films (a division of Omillio Sparks’ record label) bring Black Hollywood to Philadelphia, Pa. Today the company announced the start of production for the movie “Ex$pendable”, starring Gary Sturgis, Tarel Hicks, Sundy Carter, William L. Johnson, Omillio Sparks and more. Other notables include Michael Blackson and the former Cash Money millionaire, Gillie Da Kid. TSE starts filming, October 1st in the city of brotherly love. Executive Producer, Shurwil Langston, tells the story of a corrupt Philadelphia politician trying to get re-elected by supposedly cutting down on crime in Philadelphia by using several corrupt police officers to frame people and set up fictitious arrests. The suspenseful drama was written by screen writer Julian Phillips, and co written by Langston. Ex$pendable is expected to hit theaters in 2008.
Sturgis plays the brother to a drug dealing, street hustler that is being played by Omillio Sparks. Sparks was previously known for the role that he played as “Baby boy” in the Lionsgate Films State Property 1 & 2. The all-star cast has appeared in many of Black Hollywood’s most recognized films. Sturgis starred in Tyler Perry’s Diary of a Mad Black Woman, Daddy’s Little Girl, and Pride. Hicks played in the urban film classic, Belly, with Hip Hop artist DMX, and Bronx Tale. Johnson is known for his compelling roles played in Crossover, Doing Hard Time, and Blue Hill Avenue.
Langston say’s “We are very excited to begin working on this project, Ex$pendable is going to be a must see movie.” He further explains that his production company chose to film the movie in Philadelphia due to the atmosphere and mood of the city. Langston is also fulfilling his philanthropic need to bring more jobs into the community and to enhance Philadelphia’s reputation in the film and entertainment business.
