Birmingham, UK: -The perception of many is that "Muslims believe in a vengeful God, full of wrath, devoid of mercy and exacting in measure." In a major effort to correct this misconception, Aashiq al Rasul (AAR), a UK based Muslim Musical group, has launched a new album titled MAJESTY. The eight tracks on the album are designed to fundamentally shift our understanding of God away from an obsession with punishment to His encompassing embrace of Mercy, Love and Kindness.

Addressing God with lyrics “We turn to Your Kindness, Your Mercy and Your Mildness, We seek Your Generosity” seeks to remind the Believer that God has the attributes of Kindness, Mildness and Generosity. One track lists the 99 attributes, which Muslim scripture describe as "The Most Beautiful Names". Another track calls upon the Believers to "Celebrate ALLAH’s endless favours, Celebrate ALLAH’s never ending Mercy”.

"The intention behind the album is to show that love, mercy and caring for God's creation is an essential part of the Muslim creed,” says Amran Ellahi, AAR's lead singer and bandleader. "We need to ensure that our youth understand that we turn to a loving, caring God who has made everything as they exist around us. This is critical to enable us to appreciate and accept the Divine Will, so that we can live with love, tolerance and mercy within our communities and nations today.”

The album will be available in stores or online at AAR's website from October 4th 2007
