DALLAS – Richard A. Sayles and Mark S. Werbner, name partners and co-founders of the Dallas litigation firm Sayles Werbner, again have earned selections among “The Best Lawyers in America.”

Mr. Sayles earned his spot in the 2008 edition of Best Lawyers based on his work in Commercial Litigation and “Bet-the Company” Litigation. This marks the third consecutive year that he has been selected to the Best Lawyers list.

Mr. Werbner secured his spot on the list as one of the few attorneys to be selected in three separate categories: Commercial Litigation, “Bet-the-Company” Litigation, and White Collar Criminal Defense. This is the seventh consecutive year Mr. Werbner has been recognized in Best Lawyers, which is based on more than two million detailed evaluations of lawyers. The final list includes 78 specialties covering all 50 states and the District of Columbia.

“Dick and I work with a lot of different companies in just about every type of case you can imagine,” Mr. Werbner says, “That’s why it’s so gratifying to see that we were nominated by the lawyers we work with and against in so many different areas.”

This national honor is just the latest in a long string of professional awards and special recognition for the two attorneys, including being listed in D Magazine’s Best Lawyers in Dallas, Texas Super Lawyers in Texas Monthly magazine, and the Lawdragon 500 Leading Lawyers in America. Sayles Werbner also earned recognition as a “Go to Law Firm” for Fortune 500 companies in Corporate Counsel magazine.

“Mark and I have worked on some groundbreaking cases for some of the best companies and brightest individuals in the world,” says Mr. Sayles. “We’re proud to be included in this year’s list.”

The Best Lawyers guide, published since 1983, has earned a reputation among the most reliable, unbiased information sources of legal excellence.

Among the Sayles Werbner’s significant wins in 2007 was a $73.5 million verdict on behalf of 11 plaintiffs against Sears Roebuck and Company in a lawsuit involving the improper redemption of Sears’ corporate bonds. In 2005, The National Law Journal named the firm’s win in a bus crash lawsuit as one of the year’s Top 100 verdicts, and the same publication listed Sayles Werbner as one of the top five law firms in the nation based on its trial record.

Sayles Werbner has an international reputation as a “go to” trial law firm in multifaceted business and product liability litigation, patent litigation, life-altering personal injury cases, product safety lawsuits and other areas of the law.
