Get Ready for The BMJ Careers Fair 2007!
(
PRLEAP.COM) The BMJ Careers Fair taking place in London this October will be of particular interest and importance to junior doctors affected by the recent MTAS debacle.
The British Medical Association has warned that around 13,000 junior doctors will be without a job by the end of October.
In light of this, BMJ Careers (the UK’s leading medical careers resource) has developed a seminar programme for its BMJ Careers Fair specifically designed to help these doctors.
Entry to the exhibition at the BMJ Careers Fair is free to those who register in advance. Whilst a one off fee of £85 entitles delegates to attend over 25 different seminars covering such topics as finding a medical job abroad, working outside the NHS and new options for medical trainees in MMC.
The seminars also provide help for juniors applying for jobs by offering interview, CV writing and job application advice, for instance.
Although the fair is expected to be of enormous value to junior doctors, it will also be beneficial to other members of the medical profession. For example, GPs may be interested in seminars focusing on issues such as how to find a partnership in a shrinking market and how to form a share trading club. Whilst ‘Hot topics for non EEA doctors’ will appeal to overseas doctors and ‘Starting a career in sports medicine’ will be of interest for those looking for less traditional career paths.
The BMJ Careers Fair will take place at the Business Design Centre in Islington on the 5th and 6th October.
