Paula Kreissler, the Leadership Chair for the Savannah Chapter of the American Diabetes Association will be the guest speaker at an upcoming meeting for the Nurse Practitioner Council of Coastal Georgia. The meeting begins with a “meet and greet” session at 6:00pm on October 9th at Barnes Restaurant on Waters Avenue.

In addition to her duties for the Savannah Chapter of the ADA, Kreissler is also the President of Wound Care Clinic – ESU, Inc. in Savannah.

Kreissler plans to focus her speech on “The Traits of a Good Leader.” With nearly 25 years working for Fed Ex (most of which were in management) in combination with her entrepreneuralship (Wound Care Clinic – ESU, Inc.) and her duties for the ADA, Kreissler seems to have precisely what it takes to be an effective leader. With this upcoming speaking engagement, she hopes to pass along some of the skills she has learned.

“Nurse Practitioners are what keep Wound Care going,” Kreissler says.

“Their skills are so crucial to businesses like mine, not just in the professional realm, but in a leadership sense too. If they didn’t take on that role of a leader, where would thousands of patients in need be?”

The purpose of this Nurse Practitioner Council of Coastal Georgia is to provide continuing education programs for nurse practitioners and advanced practice nurses of coastal Georgia, to lobby for professionally related legislative issues, to coordinate community educational efforts, and to provide professional networking opportunities.
