VANCOUVER, BC, OCTOBER 8, 2007: The Gaby Davis Foundation will officially launch on Wednesday, November 7th, 2007 at the Coquitlam River Elementary School at 4250 Shaughnessy St, Port Coquitlam BC at 2pm. The foundation launch is planned to coincide with what would have been Gabrielle’s 8th birthday.

In March 2007, Gaby Davis (age 7), lost her life to a rare form of cancer (Rhabdomyosarcoma). During her courageous battle the Davis’s had much support from family, friends and community, but many families are not as fortunate. The stress of a childhood cancer diagnosis can devastate some families emotionally and financially.

The Gaby Davis Foundation will be committed to aiding families affected by childhood cancer. “We started this foundation in memory of our daughter, with the hope of helping those families in their time of need,” said, Tanya Davis, Gaby’s mom and President of the foundation. “Ultimately, we hope to help as many families as humanly possible, whether it is through monetary or emotional support. We hope the help we are able to provide will allow families to spend their time where it is needed most, with their child.” adds Guy Davis, Gaby’s Dad.

The Gaby Davis Foundation is a non-profit organization that will focus on providing support for children and their families throughout their cancer treatment and beyond. The goal is to help take care of some of the financial and emotional burdens these families will experience during their child’s cancer treatment.
