AUTHOR OF STEM CELL RESEARCH BOOK PLANS EVENT IN NASHVILLE

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (October 2007) – Nashville author, free-lance writer and speaker Yvonne Perry will celebrate the release of her new book, Right to Recover: Winning the Political and Religious Wars Over Stem Cell Research in America, with an audiovisual presentation and book signing from 7-9 p.m. Oct. 23 (Tuesday) at Borders Books & Music, 2525 West End Ave. The event will feature a speech and audiovisual presentation by Perry, live music by Nashville recording artist Tom Shinness, insights from Nashville Attorney Mary Parker of the John Edwards presidential campaign, a Biblical perspective of stem cell research by Rev. Dan Bloodworth, and a book signing by Perry. Admission is free.


In her new book, Perry’s uses more than 600 hours of intensive research and interviews to challenge the validity of President Bush’s decision to deny federal funding for blastocystic (embryonic) stem cell research. Published by Nightengale Press, the 340-page book contains insights from dozens of researchers, doctors, and political and religious figures, as well as stories from patients who hope to transform their lives through stem cell implants. Right to Recover, which retails for $19.95, has been endorsed by organizations such as Cure Paralysis Now, the Christopher Reeve Foundation, and Parkinson’s foundations from several states.
