ATLANTA – Omnilink Systems, a leader in location-based services (LBS) technology, today announced the appointment of Wain Kellum as chief executive officer. Kellum will be responsible for driving the company’s strategy and operational execution as it continues its rapid growth in providing location-based services solutions.
Kellum brings over 25 years of experience and a solid track record of successfully building industry-leading companies to his role as CEO. As the co-founder, chairman and CEO of Extreme Logic, he led the professional services firm from inception to its acquisition by Hewlett-Packard, where it formed the foundation of HP’s applications solution business in the Americas. He also spent several years as the CEO of nuBridges, launching the company into the position of the leading secure eBusiness authority. Today, more than 3,000 companies use nuBridges software and services to conduct over $884 billion in secure electronic transactions every year. In addition to his corporate responsibilities, Kellum is also the chairman of TechBridge, the Atlanta NPower affiliate.
Omnilink has quickly gained market traction for its solutions, such as those for offender monitoring, which made finding a successful, serial entrepreneur to lead the company a top priority. “Because of Omnilink’s rapid growth in the marketplace, it was apparent we needed a very seasoned CEO as the company’s leader,” stated Steve Fredrick, a partner at Grotech Capital Group, an investor in Omnilink Systems. “We are extremely pleased to have found someone with Wain’s depth of expertise to lead the company’s expansion.”
Omnilink has developed LBS solutions that go beyond the traditional GPS-based offerings to provide the real-time location of people and valuable assets, even where GPS solutions do not work. Customers use Omnilink’s solutions in a wide range of situations, from tracking bank bags in transit and covertly surveying the movement of vehicles to monitoring offenders out of jail on parole or probation. Taking offender monitoring to a new level, the company has even developed technology that alerts officers if offenders come too close to victims or criminal cohorts.
“The location-based services space is dynamic and fast-evolving. There is huge potential for almost every organization, regardless of industry, to leverage our technology for competitive advantage,” says Kellum. “Omnilink is highly differentiated in comparison to competitors, which represents a great opportunity for all of its stakeholders. I’m looking forward to leading the company as it enters this next phase of growth and expansion.”
