Analysis of bookings for winter sun holidays since the start of August shows a surge in bookings for holidays in Sharm el-Sheikh and other Red Sea resort during the winter months.

While other popular winter sun holiday destinations available through Freedom Direct (www.freedomdirect.co.uk) proving popular, the rate of advance bookings for these other resorts is not at the same level as bookings being made for the Red Sea resorts.

Nick Jackson of Freedom Direct explains: “Egypt, and in particular Sharm el-Sheikh continues to grow in popularity. Red Sea holiday resorts are ideal for people looking for guaranteed sun and relaxation in the winter months as the accommodation and facilities on offer are excellent value for money.

“We constantly remind our customers that the best way to grab a great holiday bargain is to book early and the message is definitely getting through. Egypt’s resorts are open all year, making it really easy for holidaymakers to plan their holidays well ahead by researching prices and availability.

To date, the most popular winter sun holiday destinations, as booked by customers of Freedom Direct are;-

1. Red Sea, Egypt
2. Tenerife
3. Lanzarote
4. Gran Canaria
5. Morocco
