ABC Office Announces The Addition Of The ABC 100 Counterfeit Detector

This month ABC Office added a new counterfeit bill detector to its lineup. In 2006 the Secret Service confiscated about $62 million in counterfeit bills. This constitutes a 69% increase over the last three years. The ultraviolet (UV) detector can be activated by use of a switch on the ABC 100. When used, the UV light highlights properties of the bill that appear fluorescent yellow. The lack of the yellow properties indicates a possible fraudulent bill. The watermark detector is also activated by use of a switch.
