POETRY ANTHOLOGY TO INSPIRE THE PLANET!

(PRLEAP.COM) Remy Aquino-Nation, founder of the Muses and Confidantes website at http://www.igotmuse.com, noted that while poets must be members of the M&C community to be considered for inclusion in “Inspire the Planet: Poetry from igotmuse.com,” they still have until the Nov. 1 submission deadline to join at no cost and post poems at the new creative networking and dating site.

“I’ve been so pleased that poets from around the world have been joining our community of creative people at igotmuse.com,” said Nation. “What a great anthology this will be! Already we have writers like Amelie, a terrific Anglo-French poet from England, novelist and poet Paul House, an English writer living in Spain, and the precocious Trinity, a young Australian wordsmith, helping me with my dream of making Muses and Confidantes a premier poetry destination on the web.”

The book, set to be published on Thanksgiving Day, is the first manifestation of multi-media “Inspire the Planet” events that are set to unfold throughout 2008, including a talent/beauty webcast and Internet poll to determine the modern-day equivalents of the classical Muses, (the goddesses of artistic inspiration), a book and DVD inspired by the contest, and a 2009 calendar of the winners.

“Inspire the Planet will show everyone what Muses and Confidantes is all about,” said Nation, an actress, model, photographer, activist and Web designer. “Our community is all about inspiring people through our creativity (and EVERYONE is creative in one form or another) and being inspired in turn!”
Muses and Confidantes has been live for just one month, but already has attracted members from 12 different countries. “Creativity and inspiration are a common language around the planet,” noted Nation. “We are looking for all artists, musicians, models, photographers, poets, singers and dancers to join us. In addition, we are so open to nontraditional creativity! Are you an artist at business, or of activism, or at interpersonal relationships? Everyone is creative in some area, and we want them all at igotmuse.com!”

“I’m astounded and delighted at the talents our members have shown so far,” she said. “We have music and poetry groups, new blogs all the time, and a terrific artists’ gallery of computer-generated artwork or just photos of members’ personal Muses,” Nation noted. “And, we have a talking site avatar that members seem to like. You never know what she’ll say! It might be a message from me, or she might quote from a member’s blog, or recite one of the poems that have just been posted!”

Another popular feature has been the iMuse of the Day, in which members vote for members who have inspired them. “My dream is that every one of our members will be the iMuse at least once,” said Nation. “Some of the first winners have been the lovely and elegant Oceana, from New York, the talented computer artist Alec, from the Philippines, and our poets Trinity from Australia and Paul House from Spain.”

Muses and Confidantes has been named The Most Romantic Website in the World, and much of that has to do with Nation’s own web designs. “I wanted to make a beautiful, serene space where creative people can come and be at ease, because that’s when they are most creative,” she said. “In addition, I have a strong belief in the power of water and after all, we are all mostly water, so the site architecture abounds with mermaids, dolphins, orcas and rays that act as guides to take members where they want to go.”

Nation herself recently has been named The Most Beautiful Woman in the World. The Philippine native is an Asian beauty queen and Playboy/runway model, and has also acted in films, on stage and on television.

Nation has appeared in several films, targeting both Pinay and American audiences, including “Multo,” “Cross Bronx,” and “Searching for Robert DeNiro.” She has made numerous appearances on television, including Playboy TV and the Ricki Lake and Queen Latifah talk shows. And she has appeared in high-profile theater work, such as the Pinay production of “The Vagina Monologues.”

Remy Nation is also an accomplished photographer. She does portrait photography but also more creative work. Remy Nation’s most recent photos were displayed at an art exhibit with several other creative people last fall in New York and showed off her imaginative presentation. Her photos of natural scenes were developed onto artist’s canvas, creating a very painterly effect.
