MONROVIA, CA – GTCbio is announcing the 5th anniversary of its vaccine conference held annual in Washington D.C. Vaccines: All Things Considered on November 7-9 gathers top industry and government officials to discuss recent developments on vaccines in production, as well as legal and funding issues. Presenters from FDA, CDC, NIH, BARDA, DHHS, Novartis, GSK Biologicals, Merck, Bavarian Nordic, Transgene, Acambis, BIO, IOMAI, and many more will present on vaccines in major markets, emerging and re-emerging markets, policy updates and new funding opportunities from public and private sources.

The keynote presentation will be given by Dr. David Kaslow, Vice President of Infectious Diseases and Vaccines Franchise at Merck & Co. Dr. Kaslow’s presentation entitled “Beyond Conventional Vaccine Development: Challenges and Opportunities” will cover standards for developing and bringing a vaccine into market using examples such as Gardasil and RotaTeq as well as the future opportunities for new vaccines.

This year’s anniversary conference features a pre-conference workshop on Vaccine Manufacturing. The workshop, chaired by Dr. George Robertson of the Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority (BARDA) at the Department of Health and Human Services, will focus on the technologies and challenges of vaccine manufacture in today's marketplace including quality, safety, policy, and examples from the industry.
