Massage for Couples: Improve Relationship Communication Through Therapeutic Massage

October 16, 2007 (PRLEAP.COM) Health News
WHAT: “The holidays are just around the corner, and let’s face it, when the entire family is talking at the same, volume increases, our stress level increases and true, authentic communication decreases,” says Jenn Kaye, founder of Touch with Intention, LLC. “Our relationship is where we are supposed to be able to go for nurturing, reassurance and retreat, not to use our significant other as a punching bag to take out our frustrations and irritations with others on.”

Studies suggest that over 90% of our communication is derived from non-verbal cues. While a person may say one thing, their vocal intonation and body language may communicate something entirely different, which frequently translates as a “mixed message” in relationships, especially when filtered through an increase in commitments, activities and family dynamics.

Touch with Intention™ classes offer a non-traditional, fun solution for eliminating miscommunication in relationships and providing an opportunity for people to relax and unwind, together. Using simple and practical massage techniques, couples learn how to massage each other for pain relief and relaxation, creating greater clarity, communication and connection in their relationship.

What participants will learn:

• Introduction and demonstration of basic massage techniques
• Communication cues that will change the way they think
• How to massage without getting tired or hurting their partner
• Practical massage techniques they can use every day
