Women Presidents’ Organization Announces Business Growth

NEW YORK – The Women Presidents’ Organization (WPO) has released the WPO Growth Survey, analyzing the growth of WPO member businesses. WPO surveyed its membership and found that respondents predicted growth from 2006 to continue into 2007, with 64% of the women expecting to hire additional employees within the next year. Respondents said the two biggest challenges for women presidents in 2007 are sales and managing growth.
According to the survey:

• 89% of respondents had an increase in revenues in 2006 over 2005
• 33% of respondents saw a 26% or more increase in revenues in 2006
• 76% of respondents saw an increase in profits
• 66% of respondents hired 1-50 new employees, 52% of which hired 1-10 new employees and 14% of which hired 11-50 new employees
• 84% of respondents predict growth in 2007, 25% of which predict up to 10% growth in 2007 and 56% of which predict 10-90% growth in 2007
• 81% of respondents’ businesses have grown since joining the WPO
• 70% of the respondents believe the WPO has contributed to their economic success
• 76% expect to increase employee salaries in 2007 by an average increase of 7%
