Roaring Penguin Software launches CanIt 4.0

17 October 2007 – Ottawa, Ontario, Canada – The fight against spam just got easier as Roaring Penguin Software Inc. announced the release of the CanIt 4.0. The improvements included in CanIt 4.0 are available through the complete CanIt anti-spam line including CanIt-SMB, CanIt-PRO and CanIt-Domain-PRO.

Major Changes:

* New cluster-aware Storage Manager for storing quarantine information. This greatly improves performance, scalability and reliability.
* Automated database fail-over eliminates a single point of failure. (Requires PostgreSQL 8.1 or higher.)
* REST-based API for automating CanIt actions. This is especially useful for provisioning new clients and/or integrating CanIt with a control panel.
* Much better reporting, including per-domain statistics with graphics.
* Support for automatic updates of rulesets as well as Bayesian data.
* Better documentation. All manuals are accessible via Web interface.
* Support for provisioning via SWsoft's Plesk Control Panel.
