October 17, 2007; Costa Mesa, California: Where can you take your kids to trick or treat safely on October 31st? How about the parking lot at Prince of Peace Christian Church and School in Costa Mesa? The 2007 Trunk or Treat is “just the thing” in the Prince of Peace parking lot located at 2987 Mesa Verde Drive East, just north of Baker in the Mesa Verde Community. Festivities are from 7 - 8:30 pm on Wednesday, October 31st. Trunk or Treat is open to the community and there is no charge for participation.

Prince of Peace Church hosts the event, which has evolved into an annual tradition. According to this year’s event organizer, Barbara Hunt, Trunk or Treat provides an opportunity for church and community families to enjoy a safe and happy trick or treating experience. Trunk or Treat features decorated automobile trunks loaded with candy and other treats, a costume competition and hot cider for more adult sensitivities.

According to Mrs. Hunt, Trunk or Treat is suitable for children of school age and younger. “Not only do children get a worry free trick or treat,” says Mrs. Hunt, “…we get a huge kick out of seeing all the enchanted princesses, cowboys, and superheroes that drop by for a sack full of sweets.”
