Richard Corn, an experienced tutor helping high school students with their math and standardized test preparation, has written a new book on preparing for the math sections of the standardized tests for college admission (the SAT, ACT and SAT subject tests).

Unlike existing test preparation books that cover only one particular test, his book provides a means to prepare for the math sections of any test, or any combination of tests in any sequence. In his tutoring practice, Mr. Corn found that students do not want to start over each time they begin preparation for another test.

Mr. Corn was able to take this unique approach by using overlaps in the topics covered by the standardized tests. The book clearly identifies topics that are common to all of the tests, along with topics that are needed for each particular test. This better serves the growing number of students who take both the SAT and ACT. As Mr. Corn observed: “When I was in high school, everyone took the SAT. Now most guidance counselors encourage students to take the ACT as well because both tests are accepted by colleges throughout the US and it is impossible to predict which test will produce better results.”

The book covers topics from pre-algebra (middle school math) through pre-calculus. Each topic has a lesson, homework problems, and solutions. When combined with the recommended practice tests, the book provides everything needed to be fully prepared in math.

Math Study Guide for the SAT, ACT and SAT Subject Tests – 2008 Edition (ISBN 978-0-6151-6448-9) is listed on Amazon.com and other online retailers, or it may be ordered by any book store.
