50 Top Limericks Short-Listed in British Competition

(PRLEAP.COM) Judges have announced the short-list of 50 top limericks that will proceed to the final round of the Best Local Limerick Awards 2007.

A total of 198 limericks were submitted in the national competition, which saw entries from around the country. Budding poets were invited to craft a limerick incorporating the name of a village, town or suburb of Britain. The top limericks will now battle it out for the overall top places in the competition, with the winners to be announced on 24th October.

The Best Local Limerick Awards are being run by local information Web site Localmouth.com, which helps local people connect with each other in their communities. The Web site was set up in May 2007 and is run from a small office in South London.
