DWELE TO PERFORM IN ATLANTA AT ART ON 5

Virgin Records’ recording artist Dwele will perform at the Tuskegee University Alumni Homecoming Mixer during a wine tasting sponsored by Vino Libro Wine at Art on 5 Gallery on November 2, 2007. This event will take place on the eve of the exciting match up between Tuskegee University and Clark Atlanta University as part of Tuskegee’s 2007 Homecoming activities. The event is open to the public.

Dwele, first known by mainstream audiences for singing the hook on the hit single "Tainted" by Slum Village, has become the Prince of Soul in just a few short years. After several collaborations (Bahamadia, Roy Ayers, Roy Hargrove), remix projects (Lucy Pearl, London's New Sector Movement), followed by the swell of a loyal underground following, Dwele made his mark on the recording industry with two critically acclaimed albums “Subject” and “Some Kinda.” His stirring melodies composed on piano keys, poignant lyrics, and silky tone have captivated audiences across the globe. He is heralded as a songwriter, producer and vocalist carrying on Motown-inspired traditions.

The Tuskegee University Alumni Homecoming Mixer and Old School Party is a joint venture by Legacy Sports Management and Art on 5 Gallery. “This is a great opportunity for Tuskegee alumni residing in Atlanta to come together before the game to mix, mingle and network. We’re especially excited to welcome Dwele, one of the industry’s most popular recording artists as our special guest performer,” says Philemon Hill, founder of Legacy Sports Management and Tuskegee University alumnus.

Tickets are $20 and can be purchased at the door. Doors open at 8pm. Art on 5 Gallery is located at 2001 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, Suite 530, Atlanta, GA 30310. For more information, visit www.arton5.com.
