Longtime Audio Post Leader Hangs Editorial Shingle; Adds Veteran Editor Rich Korn To Its Roster

NEW YORK, NY — Additionally, thePound has also added veteran editor Rich Korn to its roster of editorial talent. The new division features Avid Adrenaline suites, Final Cut Studio systems, as well as Sony and Panasonic HD resources — all of which are fully integrated into SoundHound's state-of-the-art audio capabilities.

In the past SoundHound has offered clients access to some editorial services. The launch of thePound, with its own identity, talent and brand new studios, represents a commitment by company founder Jeff Berman and general manager Gail Nord to growing the company and offering their clients another level of creative options and talent.

"SoundHound's business model has always been to stay one step ahead of the trends," Nord said. "In an industry as volatile and rapidly changing as post production, keeping diversified has always been a key factor for us, both in our client base and the services we provide. Offering more comprehensive video services is the natural evolution for the company and something our clients need."

Joining senior editors Lee Gurevich and John Knauer is senior editor Rich Korn. Korn was most recently a freelance editor at CNBC where he edited the network's recent "I Am Business" branding campaign, featuring an intimate look at American business leaders such as Mel Karmazin, Chris Gardner, Jack Walsh and others. A New York native, Korn began his career at such post houses as Editel and Post Perfect, before moving on to HBO and later USA Network /Sci Fi Channel, where he first worked with Knauer and Gurevich. He also spent time at Discovery International's Technical Operations Group in Miami, FL, where he trained staff and evaluated technology and workflow issues for the network. His reel includes extensive sports work, editing comprehensive packages for such high-profile events such as The Masters, the French Open and the Ryder Cup Championship.

"I'm excited to be joining John and Lee, there aren't two nicer, more talented guys in the business," said Korn. "SoundHound has a great reputation in the industry and I'm proud to be a part of what they're building."

Lee Gurevich joined SoundHound two years ago after working as an in-house editor at NBC Universal. An award-winning editor, his portfolio includes national commercials, network promotion/branding campaigns and music videos. At NBC he led their Avid department, overseeing the division's day-to-day workflow and contributing to many of its engineering needs. His recent work includes projects for A&E, History Channel, USA and Sci Fi.

Before joining SoundHound two years ago, John Knauer was a senior editor at NBC Universal and edited several of their long-form shows such as Up All Night, Tuesday Night Fights and Inside Space. His award winning work includes projects for several independent filmmakers on Sci Fi Channel's Exposure short film anthology series, USA's Nashville Star promo campaigns, the 2004 Olympics and numerous projects for A&E, History Channel and Sci Fi.
