African-Americans in Democratic Politics Assessed in Xlibris Book by Dr. Forest Lewis

The Xlibris release “The Diary of a Black Man Who Escaped from the Democratic Political Plantation” is exactly what its title indicates: a personal account of an African-American’s political journey from being a liberal Democrat to realizing that the Democratic Party may not be all it seems to be.

Dr. Forest Lewis takes a fresh – and bold – approach in sharing his experience under the Democratic “political plantation”, as he presents his assessment of the relationship between the political party and its African-American constituents.

In this self-published book, Lewis contends that a deception of black Democrats by white Democrats exists, and that African-American political figures like Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton and Julian Bond are aiding in the perpetration of said deception. The author suggests that Jackson, Sharpton and Bond are getting favors from the Democratic Party in exchange for keeping black Americans in the Democratic camp.

“The Diary of a Black Man…” is a challenging and though-provoking read as it convinces African-Americans to challenge their current view of the Democratic Party. Lewis urges his intended audience to stop treating every word that proceeds out of Democratic mouths as “gospel” and to start thinking out of the Democratic box.

Dr. Lewis’s “The Diary of a Black Man Who Escaped from the Democratic Political Plantation” can be found at Amazon.com and Xlibris.com.
