Launch event for hydroponics community grow project confirmed

(PRLEAP.COM) Supported by Great Stuff Hydroponics, one of the UK’s leading suppliers of hydroponic grow systems, the project aims to implement the hydroponic growth of vegetables at grassroots level. Implementation of the pilot project is to take place at St. Michael’s College. Plans for the installation of a greenhouse where the hydroponic grow system will be utilized are already in place.

Students of the college will be using the hydroponic grow system for both geography and biology experiments, learning to grow vegetables and monitoring the results. Hydroponic growth not only ensures higher yields, but healthier crops that are grown at faster rate than conventional methods. Hydroponic growth consists of using water rather than soil based nutrients, and has been around for a long time, yet the concept remains revolutionary for its environmental benefits.

The plan is to implement the system on a wider scale. From pilot stage, the team behind the FREdome Project aim to raise awareness of the benefits of hydroponic growth, and with the support of the local community, entrepreneurs and government, aim to implement hydroponic growth on a scale that will benefit the town’s young and destitute.

The launch presentation on 9th November will be placing emphasis on not just the sustainable benefits at social level, but on how we can erase our carbon footprints using hydroponics. The presentation will reveal details of the hydroponic system to be used, as donated by Great Stuff Hydroponics, as well as details of when it will be implemented at St. Michael’s College.

The presentation will host a series of talks by FREdome Visionary Trust Founder and Chair, Greg Peachey, Regional Director of Business Network International plc, Charlie Kenny, Global-Eco founder, Harry Hart and closing comments from Watford Borough Council Chair, Tony Poole. A press conference and informal discussion will follow. Further details of the presentation can be found at: www.c-greensolutions.com, www.FREdome.org and at www.hydroponics-hydroponics.com.
