(Longwood, Florida) Coinlink has always been known for having the most comprehensive numismatic directory of coin dealers and rare coin resources on the web, however with a recent format change, the site has experienced an unexpected boost.

"When CoinLink moved to our new custom blog platform in September, we expected to see a jump in traffic, but the increase in Page Views and our visitors time on the site is what really caught our attention" said Scott Purvis, editor of the online numismatic portal.

"Numismatic sites make up a niche marketplace and most sites average about 3-5 page views per visit and usually no more than 3-6 minutes in average visitor stay" continued Purvis. "However since moving to our new format, CoinLink has just exploded. Our average page view per visitor is up to 71 pages and the length of stay is over 30 minutes. It's very exciting for our sponsors and extremely satisfying for our staff."

Web sites with high Page Views and long visitor stays are often referred to as “sticky” by internet marketing professionals. Usually “sticky sites” contain abundant content that is highly targeted and relevant to a specific audience, in this case rare coin collectors. It is also the “Holy Grail” for advertisers, who view these sites as being able to generate more quality traffic than other sites with higher traffic but very low page views.

CoinLink has established Content Partnerships with a number of the most knowledgeable dealers in the rare coin marketplace. In addition, they have sought out some of the best numismatic writers in the field to contribute articles and submit news stories.

“We are very pleased with the quality and research that has gone into our latest articles, especially our coverage of major rarities and important auction sales. I don’t think anyone does a better job at reporting on these events” stated Purvis.

CoinLink maintains 14 different sections of its site, from numismatic news which is updated on a daily basis, to its article database and “Rarity of the Week”. They also make available to coin collectors a full calendar of upcoming Coin Auctions and Coin Shows across the county.
