DR. TOY JOINS BHC SISTERHOOD FOR PRESENTATION ON SMART PLAY
(PRLEAP.COM) Baltimore, MD – (October 28, 2007) – Baltimore Hebrew Congregation (BHC) will welcome “Dr. Toy,” Stevanne Auerbach, PhD, child development product expert and author, for a presentation and Q&A during Baltimore Hebrew Congregation Sisterhood’s 13th Annual Holiday Boutique & Silent Auction, Sunday, November 18 and Monday, November 19.
Appropriately timed in the midst of the holiday shopping season, Dr. Toy will hold a free admission presentation on Sunday, Nov. 18 at 1:30 pm. She will hold a lively discussion on "smart play" and will address the current issues of toy safety, choosing appropriate products for children, and the importance of interactive play.
In addition, Dr. Toy will also have several hands-on products for demonstration, and toys that will be donated to the silent auction to raise funds for the Congregation. Following her presentation and discussion Dr. Toy will be on hand to sign copies of her internationally best-selling book, Smart Play/Smart Toys: How to Raise a Child with a High PQ (Play Quotient), which was recently published in Israel and Greece.
“Anytime there are families gathered together for a good cause, I am happy to address any concerns and educate parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles, about smart ways that they can play and have fun with children, while also helping the child develop socially, emotionally, and intellectually,” Dr. Toy continued. “In particular I have a personal interest in BHC Sisterhood. It is great for me to be able to give back to the Baltimore and Towson area where my grandparents raised six children; and I personally spent several summers as a camper and counselor at Camp Louise.”

The 13th Annual Holiday Boutique is held at Baltimore Hebrew Congregation located at 7401 Park Heights Avenue in Baltimore. The two-day event includes vendors, food and festivities. Clothing, toys, books, jewelry, stationery, cosmetics, art, gifts, ceramics, crafts, and accessories will all be on hand for patrons to shop, and a silent auction will be held for exclusive merchandise.

Stevanne Auerbach, Ph.D., aka “Dr. Toy” has been evaluating and speaking about toys and children’s products for more than 30 years.
