SCRAPBOOKWORLD OPENS FOR B TO B TRADE IN PORT GLASGOW
(PRLEAP.COM) SCRAPBOOKWORLD is a cottage industry business that started with a hobby.Claire Cameron became interested in a hobby in Houston,Texas called Scrapbooking , which is a $5billion industry in the USA ,now sweeping through the UK.When Claire arrived back in the UK she found it increasingly difficult to find a source for the product for her hobby.She decided to contact the American Manufacturers and asked about UK stockists.She found the products were not available in shops or on-line.
The business was born
She set up a small internet company with her mother Maxine Harwood.The intention was really to sell to end users and a craft shop,but they soon were getting requests for supply from shops and wholesale so they decided to go for it and started running the business themselves selling to a small number of shops.
They now rent facilities from Renfrewshire Electronics Ltd in Port Glasgow Industrial Estate, where they employ 5 people and are sole suppliers to trade in UK and Europe for four Manufacturers.
Claire said,“Scrapbooking is the fastest growing craft in the UK today and has been featured on BBC1 and the Times Newspaper.It is very relaxing and a great way to present photographs in an informative way.It is a wonderful hobby for children and there is a fantastic array of products including stickers,patterned papers,fabrics,buttons etc.”
