That Old Drip Coffee Maker's Days are Numbered
(PRLEAP.COM) Lafayette, Indiana-based JL Hufford Coffee and Tea Company is the first to announce the introduction of the Capresso ST600 drip coffee maker.Although the past several years have seen innovation primarily in espresso machines, particularly with the advent of so-called “super-automatic” coffee centers from Capresso and Saeco, it now appears that the drip coffee machine is entering into its own evolutionary phase. Highlights of this new breed of drip coffee maker include an almost entirely metal body, a stark control panel with ease-of-use in mind, and the heavy contrast of a white on black LCD digital display.
Inside the stainless steel sculpture is a brand new innovation in coffee brewing technology: filter to spout brewing. Brewing directly from the Goldtone filter to the spout of the vacuum insulated coffee carafe, it is believed, retains heat better than traditional brewing methods. In addition, the coffee brew temperature measures just over 200 degrees Fahrenheit.
Of course, all the old features are present with the new Capresso ST600, like timed-on and timed-off brew, a half pot brewing cycle, and the ability to remove the carafe to pour coffee in the middle of a brewing cycle.
What’s next? The sky’s the limit, so says JL Hufford Coffee and Tea Company CTO James Pappas, who is being very tight-lipped about the drip coffee maker evolution. One thing is for sure, says Pappas, “that old drip coffee maker’s days are numbered.”
