Can IT earn its keep?

(PRLEAP.COM) Is it possible to assess the worth of information and communications technologies? Can IT really “earn its keep” in a modern organisation, or is it simply an expensive corporate status symbol?
These questions will be addressed by Professor Paul Beynon-Davies at “Assessing the Worth of IT”, an ITWales event to be held in Swansea on 23 March 2006.
Recent prominent IT systems failures have fuelled the debate, but Professor Beynon-Davies believes the reality behind those failures is the fact that IT had not been properly integrated with other drivers of organisational performance.
In his presentation, Professor Beynon-Davies will explain how to build IT for success, and demonstrate how a holistic model of an organisation’s systems can provide a more effective way of evaluating the worth of IT to organisations both in the private and public sectors.
Places are limited so advance registration is essential. Places can be booked by email to info@itwales.com; on the website at www.itwales.com/events, or by phone 01792 295881.
