Easy-to-use embedded commands control background color, any-size text, shapes (including user-definable bitmapped characters such as logos) in 65,536 colors – even animations! This frees your host micro from having to cope with processor-hungry screen control functions. A simple micro-controller with a standard serial or USB interface can drive the µLCD module with ease.The 2” square µLCD comes complete with 1.5” 128 x 128 color LCD and is designed to be integrated into a wide range of applications since it offers such a wealth of features designed to facilitate any given functionality quickly and cost effectively, and thereby reduce time-to-market. Features include: 65,536 colors; three selectable font sizes (5x7, 8x8 and 8x12) for ASCII characters; user-defined bitmapped characters (64 @ 8x8); vector drawing controls for circles, lines, squares; logic-level RS232 (auto-baud rate detection 300 – 128kb/s). Note that Rx/Tx signals are at 3.3V levels (if interfacing to a 5V host series resistors are required).
The secret of µLCD’s simplicity is its easy-to-understand command set. Easily-learned instructions can draw lines, circles, squares, etc, to provide a full text and graphical user interface. Commands are sent to µLCD via a serial connection (4 pin header).
