LIVINGSTONE LEADS THE PACK
(PRLEAP.COM) LONDON – 21 July 2007 – A new poll conducted by leading online survey company Ciao Surveys has revealed that Mayor of London, Ken Livingstone, is in the lead for re-election, with a nine point lead over his nearest competitor, Conservative MP Boris Johnson. 31.9% of survey respondents stated they would vote for Livingstone, compared to 22.7% for Johnson, 8.9% for independent Greg Dyke, 5.1% for independent John Bird, and 5.5% stated they would vote for any Liberal Democrat candidate.Interestingly, when voters were asked who their second choice would be for mayor, more respondents chose Dyke than anyone else at 16%. 14.1% said any Liberal Democrat would be their second choice, followed by Johnson at 12.6%, Bird at 10.7%, and Livingstone at 10.2%.
Johnson was the overwhelming choice for the best Conservative candidate, at 35.3% compared to closest competitor Steve Norris at 10.1%. A majority of voters surveyed (68.2%) said that should Johnson win the election, they feel he should resign from his seat as MP for Henley-on-Thames.
