(PRLEAP.COM) Kansas City, MO. (July 26, 2007) â With the NASCAR Nextel Cup drivers preparing for a rare weekend off, fans of the sport are hoping to see driver Tony Stewart return to the track refreshed, rejuvenated and waxed. Thatâs right waxed! In the August issue of Menâs Journal, Tony Stewart is quoted saying âIâve made a deal that if somebody will raise $100,000 for the Victory Junction Gang Camp â thatâs Kyle Pettyâs charity for children with life-threatening illnesses â Iâll wax my chest and backâ.
Kansas City based 1Dawg.com, an on-line video sharing site is sponsoring the fundraiser. Fans can log on to WaxTony.com to make a donation. âAre goal is to have Tony waxed before the NASCAR Nextel Cup race at Kansas Speedway in September.âsaid Jeff Danley, coordinator of the activity. "The guys at 1Dawg have been great, and are genuinely enthused to sponsor this fundraiser."
1Dawgâs Director of Marketing Austin Hurst said, âWeâre excited to be a part of this activity and we hope to bring fans a video of âthe waxingâ on 1Dawg.comâ.
Fans can register online to participate in the WaxTony.com fundraiser by visiting
www.WaxTony.com. The web site launched today, July24th and fans can donate now. Danley says there are opportunities for corporations to contribute to the effort as well.
"We’re happy to donate our time and technology to support WaxTony.com," says Adam Fichman, Business Director at 1Dawg.com. "I really got a kick at the thought of seeing Tony get waxed, but more importantly this is a great opportunity for NASCAR fans to donate to the Victory Junction Gang Camp."
Information about WaxTony.com has been sent to all of the NASCAR Nextel Cup teams and is sure to be a topic of conversation in the garages this weekend at the Brickyard 400!
