New Photography Bachelor's Degree at The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale

(PRLEAP.COM) July 26, 2007 – Ft. Lauderdale, FL – The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale www.aifl.edu has offered photography associate’s degree and a one-year diploma for many years but as the industry has evolved from print to a digital world, the demand for knowledgeable and well-informed specialists has taken the profession to a new level.

Enrollment has begun for classes beginning in October 2007, in the new Bachelor of Science degree in Photography at The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale.

“This new program meets the demands of the industry for competent, skilled, and business savvy professionals,” says The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale Photography Program Chair Bill Cadieux.

The degree offers everything the associate’s program has, plus builds upon competencies in technical skills, gives students the opportunity to specialize in a market (advertising, consumer, editorial, corporate/industrial), encourages development of personal vision, and builds better business skills.

“With the bachelor’s degree,” continues Cadieux, “graduates will develop a stronger knowledge of the industry and its trends and build portfolios that demonstrate a sophistication of style and offer a unique position in the market.”

Graduates are prepared for entry-level positions such as photographic technician, photographer’s assistant, digital-imaging artist, product or still-life photographer, newspaper editorial photographer, or photo re-touch professional. They may work in studios, or advertising agencies, publishing houses, photo labs or production companies, newspapers and magazines, or as freelancers.
