d Corlew Films Wins Two Awards For 48 Hour Film

(PRLEAP.COM) (NASHVILLE, TENN — August 16th, 2007) David Corlew (d Corlew films) and Read Ridley (Privateer Films) won two awards for their 48 hour film entitled, "Vingt Ampre d’Amour" (20 Amps of Love). In an awards ceremony held at the Belcourt Theater on Thursday night, the filmmaking team placed first in the Female Drama category and placed second overall in Cinematography. Corlew who was B unit Director of Photography stated, "It was certainly a challenge, but a wonderful opportunity to get to work with Read Ridley and his crew who are so talented at what they do." The film was shot at various locations including Nashville’s Acorn Restaurant.

The 48 Hour Film Project’s mission is to advance filmmaking and promote filmmakers. The tight deadline of 48 hours puts the focus squarely on the filmmakers—emphasizing creativity and teamwork skills. While the time limit places an unusual restriction on the filmmakers, it is also liberating by putting an emphasis on "doing" instead of "talking."
