Hypermedia Systems Selects DSP Chips from Surf Communication Solutions for VoIP Gateway Solutions

(PRLEAP.COM) Surf Communication Solutions (“Surf”), a leading provider of multimedia embedded processing solutions, announced today that Hypermedia Systems (“Hypermedia”), a manufacturer of next-generation telecommunication products optimized for medium-to-large enterprises, has selected Surf’s DSP chip multimedia processing solution, the Surf DSP-12™, for inclusion in its VoIP gateway product line.

Hypermedia Gateway™ systems, Hypermedia’s flagship product line, provides integrated voice communications for on-site and remote users. The Hypermedia Gateway is the industry’s first solution that enables flexible pre-defined allocation of PRI B-channels for inbound and outbound PSTN, cellular (GSM, TDMA and CDMA) and VoIP calls - all in one compact box. By incorporating Surf’s media processing DSPs into the gateway, Hypermedia is able to provide a modular, scalable solution to suit their enterprise customers’ requirements in a cost-effective manner.

The Surf DSP-12 is a media processing solution offering simultaneous support for multimedia convergence—Voice, Video, and Data (Fax/Modem) —all running on a single DSP. Equipment manufacturers who develop Media Gateways, CTI products, and other Media over Packet (MoP™) applications find this solution ideal and optimized for their requirements, as well as quick and easy to integrate into their hardware designs.

“Hypermedia selected Surf’s technology for its wide range of media processing capabilities and modular packaging in order to offer customers flexible solutions that match their current and future density, and channel requirements,” said Rami Hershkovitz, VP Sales, Hypermedia Systems. “With Surf’s DSP solution it is easy to increase channel densities and expand the GSM gateway and VoIP gateway functionality to include advanced features, such as call recording, call conferencing and mobility support.”

“We are pleased to be selected as the DSP supplier for Hypermedia’s VoIP Gateways,” said Avi Harush, Surf’s Sales Director, EMEA. “This project demonstrates how Surf’s rich multimedia processing package provides our customers with cost-effective, scalable and comprehensive solutions.”
