Realizing IPv6: Unleash the Benefits of the Next Generation Government
(PRLEAP.COM) Rockville, Md. — Federal market research and Federal contracts intelligence provider fedXccel is tracking major initiatives related to technology infrastructure programs with IPv6 requirements. There are over eighteen major Information Technology programs with explicit mention of IPv6 compared with just a couple last year. These 2008 programs have a collective budget of over $840 million.
“There is significant interest in IPv6 driven in part by the OMB mandate to have an upgraded network backbone by mid next year as indicated by the increase in programs with IPv6 requirements,” said fedXccel Chief, Gaurav “GP” Pal. “Once the dust over the OMB mandate settles, we are going to see next generation solutions in situational awareness, information sharing and collaboration, and data center operations amongst others.”
This growing interest in IPv6 has spawned the need for specialized programming to help Industry and Government executives keep abreast of changes and stay up-to-date.
“We realize that IPv6 has the potential to transform Government operations,” said Mike Smoyer, President of Digital Government Institute. “That is the reason we decided to produce a high quality IPv6 event aimed at helping federal agencies and systems integrators learn about the latest solutions and their underlying business impact.”
