Stuttgart, November 2007 – Thieme Publishers has launched “Dx-Direct”, a new series of radiology books in a handy, pocket-sized format. Comprehensive in scope, the 12-book series covers all the main subspecialties in radiology, with each book presenting all the cases that radiologists are likely to encounter in daily practice.

Each book in the series is organized to distill the essential information in a minimal amount of pages. For each problem, the book provides concise descriptions of epidemiology, etiology, imaging modality, findings, clinical presentation, treatment options, course, prognosis, differential diagnosis, and tips and pitfalls. In each book, high-quality diagnostic images demonstrate key concepts.

The first six books in the series are “Brain Imaging”, “Head and Neck Imaging”, “Cardiac Imaging”, “Gastrointestinal Imaging”, “Spinal Imaging”, and “Breast Imaging”. The next six books will publish throughout 2008: “Pediatric Imaging”, “Musculoskeletal Imaging”, “Urogenital Imaging”, “Vascular Imaging”, “Thoracic Radiology”, and “Interventional Radiology”.

The “Dx-Direct” series is ideal for residents and trainees seeking concise, portable references for managing the most common problems in the clinical setting. The series will prove to be valuable for board exam preparation.
