Make Internet Research a Snap with MetaProducts Inquiry

July 02, 2005 (PRLEAP.COM) Technology News
MetaProducts Corporation has released MetaProducts Inquiry, a powerful Windows application that helps you organize, store, retrieve, and view information from the Web, quickly and easily. Unlike Web capture applications that take a long time to learn and use, Inquiry is simple to use, and lets you become productive immediately.

It's easy to store entire Web pages, selected text and images, Shockwave Flash movies, and other Internet files. There's no need to learn a file management system, or wrestle with open/close/save dialogs. A single click lets you capture the current Web page, or parts of it. In addition, you can use drag and drop to save a selection, or save all of the pages that are linked to the selection. The autosave feature lets you capture and store all of the Web pages that you visit. Regardless of how you save pages, the process is much faster than using Internet Explorer's "Save As" feature.

Inquiry is fully integrated with Microsoft Internet Explorer, Opera, Mozilla, and Firefox. You can import bookmarks, favorites, and hotlists from any of these programs. Inquiry lets you print multiple saved Web pages with a single command.

The built-in search function lets you quickly locate text in any of your saved Web information. You can use the search function to organize your material and store it by theme.

Inquiry lets you easily convert stored pages into a number of popular formats, including HTML, MHT Archive, Microsoft Word, or a standalone executable file with a built-in browsing application. You can easily email your stored pages to your friends.

Teachers, students, and writers can use Inquiry as a research tool. You can save all citation and reference information (such as author, title, and editor) in four standard styles: MLA, APA, Chicago, and CBE. You can also design your own custom styles. This citation information can be displayed above or below the Web pages that you are browsing.

Business people can use Inquiry to perform competitive research on the Internet. Students and teachers can easily document information for class projects. Shoppers can use Inquiry to gather and store data about product price and availability.

MetaProducts Inquiry is currently in its second beta release, and is available for free. The program runs on Windows 95/98/Me/NT4/2000/XP/2003, and can be downloaded from http://www.metaproducts.com. For more information, contact MetaProducts Corporation,
