The Celebrated New Jersey Youth Chorus To Hold a Special Holiday Performance

The New Jersey Youth Chorus, founded in 1992, is an auditioned choral program for children in grades two through twelve, divided into three ensembles: Advanced (grades 7-12), Intermediate (grades 4-6), and a Musicianship class (grades 2-4). More than one hundred vocalists come from almost forty towns in six counties of New Jersey. With such a distinguished reputation, they never fail to attract a crowd. On Sunday, December 16th at 3P.M., the New Jersey Youth Chorus is sure to impress listeners at The Mayo Center for Performing Arts, with their annual Holiday concert. A portion of the proceeds will go to the BD Diabetes Center for Children at the Goryeb Children’s Hospital at Morristown Memorial Hospital The Chorus performs a wide range of choral literature from music of the classical masters to international folk music and gospel. The Chorus regularly performs with established musicians including collaborations with noted professional organizations, such as The New Jersey Symphony Orchestra and Canadian Brass; performs at music conventions, including the American Choral Directors Association and the Orff-Schulwerk Association, and hosts national and international choirs, including the Drakensberg (South Africa) Boys Choir, the Crypt Choir (England) and the Colgate 13.

The Chorus has also performed in concert with world-renowned tenor Ronan Tynan, appeared on the “Today Show”, and participated in numerous festivals in Hawaii, Oregon, Canada and England, and toured Italy in the summer of 2007.
