CrankMama to Give Away Books in the Great Shrek Cookbook Shakedown

Bellingham, WA CrankMama LLC recently announced that it will be giving away copies of the Shrek Cookbook, published by DK Publishing to the winners of its latest contest, The Great Shrek Cookbook Shakedown.

In order to be eligible for the contest, the entrant must submit an original, brief story that shares an experience that happened while cooking with kids, or a story of an occasion when the entrant was cooking as a child.

The stories can be submitted via CrankMama’s blog at www.CrankMama.com. Six stories will be chosen, and the readers will vote on the winners. Voting is open from November 8th to November 14th 2007, and the two lucky winners will be announced on the blog on November 15th 2007.

The idea for the contest came about when CrankMama recently had a Halloween sleepover for her kids and their young friends, and for fun (theirs mostly) she tried recipes from the Shrek Cookbook. The results were so entertaining she thought that others would likely have similarly funny stories to share.

Each winner will receive a copy of the book, as well as acknowledgement on CrankMama.com. In addition to fairly typical recipes like pancakes and hamburgers, the Shrek Cookbook also has more imaginative (and disgusting) fare like swamp rat kebabs, beetle juice ripple, and frogspawn jelly. Artwork from the movie graces every page making it a fun read for kids.

Contest rules can be found at www.CrankMama.com.
